On October 1, 2009 GRCS Kutaisi Branch celebrated the International Elderly Day. The beneficiaries of Kutaisi Social Centre for Lone Elderly hosted all those people who care about lone elderly and respect their dignity.
Through 11-12 September 2009 GRCS Senaki branch organized a charity action for IDP children going for their first year at municipality school №1, Abkhazia school №7, Teklaki and Senaki public schools.
On 18 September, 2009 Georgia Red Cross Society Head Office hosted the meeting organized for the representatives of Tbilisi public schools №82, №14, №23, №100, №146, №24, №63 and №64.
On September 17, 2009 Georgia Red Cross Society Tbilisi branch organized a charity activity for "Lampioni" orphanage in Tbilisi. 48 children of the orphanage were given school bags provided by "Gurkaynak" Ltd.
On 13 September, 2009 Georgia Red Cross Society organized an event in "Mtatsminda Park" which was dedicated to the 91st anniversary of Georgia Red Cross Society and to the World First Aid Day.
Through 24-26 August, 2009 Georgia Red Cross Society organized two day training on Disaster Management for Kutaisi and Batumi Disaster Response Team members.
On September 8, 2009 at 2:41 AM an earthquake with the magnitude 6.2 on Richter scale struck Oni district, Racha-Lechkhumi region of Georgia. The intensity of the earthquake in its epicentre was 8 on Richter scale.
On 27 August 2009 in the framework of "Solferino Campaign" GRCS organized different types of information dissemination and charity activities in Batumi.
Through 24-27 August 2009 GRCS organized four day celebration to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The events tool place under the "Solferino Campaign" and were organized in Batumi.
Through 30-31 July, 2009 within Organizational Development project Georgia Red Cross Society (GRCS) conducted a workshop on Project Planning for GRCS branch leadership, staff and volunteers.
