Through 1-5 November, 2009 GRCS Gardabani Health Cabinet representatives visited Ozurgeti region upon the invitation of the city municipality. The goal of the visit was to carry out medical checks for the most vulnerable population in Ozurgeti region.

Georgia Red Cross Society in cooperation with the MSCI ( Medical Service Cooperation International) implements a joint project in Adjara region in order to improve the health status of the DR-TB clients. In the framework of the project treatment adherence consultants and a psychologist are working with the DR-TB clients who are at out-patient treatment phase in Batumi and Kobuleti cities, as well as the villages around Kobuleti. The work is implemented to encourage the DR-TB clients' adherence to the medical treatment.

On October 29, 2009 Georgia Red Cross volunteers who participated in the "Five Potatoes" action dedicated to the International Elderly Day and helped vulnerable elderly people in Tbilisi, were invited by "Rustaveli" Cinema to watch new Georgian movie "Everything will be all right".

On October 26, 2009 GRCS youth department established "Committee of Five" at #199 Komarov public school of Tbilisi and also organized a seminar on the Red Cross. The seminar was participated by 40 school children including teachers.

Through 2-8 October, 2009 GRCS Gardabani Health Cabinet representatives visited Khelvachauri region upon the invitation of Teimuraz Dumbadze, the head of Khelvachauri city municipality. The goal of the visit was to carry out medical checks for the most vulnerable population in Khelvachauri region. The service provided by GRCS Health Cabinet included cardiological and echoscope diagnostics.

On September 1, 2009 new project was launched by Georgia Red Cross Society . The project "Branch Development through effective service delivery" supported by the Danish Red Cross will be implemented in two target branches - Sagarejo and Gardabani. The project comprises support of the target local communities through volunteer- based community initiatives, also the Participatory Community Development (PCD) approach in Sagarejo in line with the GRCS priorities.

Through 5-6 October 2009 in the framework of the Disaster Management project GRCS made a distribution of mattresses and warm blankets to the earthquake victims in Sachkere and Oni regions. Based on the request of Sachkhere and Oni local government GRCS delivered relief items to 822 families in total, out of which 482 families are residing in Oni region and 340 in Sachkhere region.

Through October 2-3, 2009 the partners of the Red Cross/Red Crescent International Movement (Georgia Red Cross Society, ICRC and IFRC) had a meeting with the representatives of the Imereti region government and Kutaisi local government at Vere palace hotel in Bakuriani. The meeting was also participated by the leaders of GRCS Tbilisi and Kutaisi media clubs as well as the elderly people.

On October 1, 2009 GRCS Senaki Branch joined "Five Potatoes" action and contributed to the Celebration of the International Elderly Day. The charity activity was carried out through 1-3 October and was supported by Senaki Municipality, Municipality Education Resource Centre, Senaki Social Service Agency, Senaki publis schools #1, #3, #7 and a private college.

On October 1st, 2009 Georgia Red Cross Society in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Tbilisi City Municipality celebrated the International Elderly Day with the charity activity called "Five Potatoes for Lone Elderly". The above mentioned activity was participated by the following public schools of Tbilisi: #100, #82, #14, #23, #146, #24, #63, and # 64.
