Through February 24-26, 2010 the International Committee of Red Cross conducted training for 18 Georgia Red Cross volunteers and the Organizational Development Coordinator, as well as for two ICRC staff on mine and explosive remnants of war casualty data collection and victim needs.
On February 25, 2010 Mrs. Nana Keinishvili, President of Georgia Red Cross Society and Atakan Turhan, General Manager of Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel signed the cooperation agreement. Under the agreement the National Society has placed three donation boxes at the above mentioned hotel.
On February 5, 2010 the disaster management training was conducted at Georgia Red Cross Society (GRCS) HQ conference room. The goal of the training was to disseminate basic information on Disaster Management among Red Cross volunteers.
On 29 December, 2009 GRCS organized a round-up event for the Red Cross volunteers. About 80 Red Cross volunteers representing different local branches (Tbilisi, Rustavi, Goris, Gardabani, Sagarejo, Batumi) of Georgia Red Cross Society participated in the event.
On November 29, 2009 GRCS Senaki branch organized the Anti-Smoking action in Senaki. The volunteers of Senaki branch were directly involved in the action and provided various creative materials.
Through 15-16 December GRCS organized a meeting with internal and external stakeholders at "Radisson Tbilisi" Hotel. The goal of the meeting was to present the strategies for 2010-2013 for Disaster Management, Psycho-Social support and Social Support for Lone Elderly.
On December 5, 2009 Sheraton Metekhi Palace Hotel hosted a Holiday Expo organized by the International Women's Association. The event started at 10 am and lasted for the whole day, giving many organizations and their beneficiaries an opportunity to present and sell their works.
Georgia Red Cross Society was one of those organizations who participated in the Holiday Expo. At the Red Cross table the elderly beneficiaries of Kutaisi and Tbilisi social projects presented traditional handicrafts.
On December 5, 2000 the International Volunteer Day GRCS in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and science of Georgia organized a charity action for the Tserovani public school which accommodates more than 1000 IDP children. Upon the request of the Tserovani public school leadership GRCS has established a library at the school building which includes different kinds of interesting books.
