On May 4. 2009 GRCS Kutaisi Branch organized a major celebration dedicated to the World Red Cross/Red Crescent Day - May 8. Lone elderly have been waiting for this day for a long time as the presentation of new Social Club was planned.
On 4 May 2009 GRCS Youth Unit organized the presentation of a Georgia Red Cross Corner at in #14 Tbilisi Public School. The opening of the Red Cross corner was dedicated to the celebration of May 8 - World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.
On May 3, 2009 in the framework of the Red Cross Week, Georgia Red Cross Society organized a charity action in cooperation with Mc Donald's. The action was organized for the children living at "Satnoeba" orphanage.
The Red Cross Week was opened on May 8 with the charity action for the vulnerable children. Red Cross volunteers visited "Satnoeba" orphanage and took the children to the amusement park "Mushtaidi".
On March 25, 2009 the youth department of the Georgia Red Cross Society organized dissemination seminar on Red Cross at the Youth Palace. The seminar was held in the Youth Palace, Tbilisi and was attended by 40 young students and leader-teachers of the international relations circle.
On 11-12 March, 2009 European Seminar on "First Aid for vulnerable people" was organized by the British Red Cross in London, UK. 45 participants were presented from 11 national societies, IFRC, FAEEN and other organizations working with vulnerable people through implementing relevant projects.
On 27 February 2009 a workshop was organized in the framework of GRCS Organizational Development program and was participated by the representatives of GRCS branches.
