On February 5, 2010 the disaster management training was conducted at Georgia Red Cross Society (GRCS) HQ conference room. The goal of the training was to disseminate basic information on Disaster Management among Red Cross volunteers. In the framework of the training the Red Cross leader volunteers on DM trained 10 GRCS volunteers. The participants were briefed on the basics of the disaster management, emergency response and the current GRCS activities in this field.

The above mentioned training is conducted on regular basis and it was organized for the second time in 2010. It should be noted that the National Society plans to conduct similar trainings in GRCS branches as well in order to strengthen already established Disaster Response teams (DRT) Both at central and local level.
