Raising Community Health Awareness

In 2005 within the framework of the floods emergency program funded by the IFRC, the population of Khulo, Mestia, Akhmeta and Oni rayons was provided with the useful information on different health issues. The TOT workshops for the regional community leaders were organized at the headquarters. The community leaders carried out the trainings in their own regions.

The following brochures were published and disseminated among the target population: "Basics of Hygiene, Prophylaxis of Diseases Caused by Water and Food, Diarrhea" (39p.), "Acute Respiratory Infections, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Viral Hepatitis" (56p.), "Emergency Situations and First Aid" (55p.).

Georgia Red Cross Society with the support of Oxfam published a booklet on the healthy lifestyle (98p.) and provided seminars for the community leaders from the Khulo region.
